About the Opportunity - Producer, Music Events

The Producer, Music Events is responsible for the entire creative, strategic and production oversight of JJLA and AKT Agency’s award-winning concert series OUTLOUD as well as other concert and live music events of the Company. The Producer, Music Events oversees the day-to-day management and planning of all aspects of OUTLOUD and its programming, including a minimum twice monthly live concert event that streams digitally, shoulder music events and pop-ups at festivals and concert events, and a minimum annual flagship festival event.

The Producer supervises all event and channel management and coordination, venue solicitation and coordination, artistic booking, contracting and scheduling, event design, sponsorship coordination, staffing and supervising all planning and production tasks associated with executing the events to the highest standards. The Producer will help to expand the event and channel to a national audience and build a team of coordinators and onsite personnel, targeting expansion in New York, Miami, Nashville, Chicago, and Los Angeles. This role reports to the CEO and the Head of Talent Relations, and will oversee 2 direct reports/coordinators.

Responsibilities

  • Lead JJLA & AKT's OUTLOUD portfolio across concert events nationally, in partnership with digital platform Twitch & ticketing/marketing partner Fever
  • Manage all physical production, technical development, operational, logistical, and technical event management
  • Oversee financial budgeting, project scheduling and timelines, vendor management and communications to internal and external partners, including accurate and complete event, project and client files, organizing all event orders, budget tracking, vendor quotes, approvals and design concepts
  • Produce all components of monthly concert series in venues nationally, including twice monthly shows to occur in front of live audiences, at venues, and streaming shows digitally via Officially Outloud channel
  • Oversee the formulation and articulation of the strategic and creative vision for OUTLOUD, including but not limited to events, that deliver on strategy, content, and key brand outcomes and any follow-up on communications or work
  • Oversee Raising Voices flagship live concert event in June
  • Collaborate with OUTLOUD brand partners (i.e. Twitch, Fever) and sponsors to ensure creative deliverables and ROI is achieved
  • Collaboration and coordination of artist booking process, including outreach and offers, scheduling, contracting, and advancement
  • Oversight of brand creative deliverables, including creative decks and ideation for sponsorship pitches, venue development and participation at festivals and shoulder events (i.e. SXSW, Pride Events, WMC etc.)
  • Develop partnership and coordination with music labels, managers, and agents to continue to build OUTLOUD artist roster and brand recognition, and participate in new business and pitch presentations for new clients and new events as requested and required

Minimum Requirements & Ideal Candidates

  • 8 years direct experience leading all aspects of multiple, complex, large-scale, big-budget, high-profile, experiential projects or concert events
  • Proven track record of developing and delivering strategy-driven, creatively stunning, and flawless events
  • Ability to manage budgets over long project periods, changes against scope of work, and ability to communicate status to internal teams and clients
  • A creative eye with a knowledge of and interest in design, merchandising and lifestyle
  • A passion for and understanding of live entertainment, including music, film, television, sports, fashion, consumer products and digital media with an ability to identify and stay on top of new and emerging trends
  • Represents the company externally with poise and professionalism at events, meetings, conferences and as required by senior management
  • Deep experience working with and cultivating relationships with multiple vendors including technical, fabrication, logistics, and production vendors, with a strong negotiation ability
  • Proven track record working collaboratively with internal teams and clients
  • Ability to effectively and cheerfully manage a diverse team including other producers, and lead event-related team meetings as required per project
  • Excellent judgment, agility, and ability to anticipate strategy, creative, or production problems, issues, and barriers, and pro-actively and effectively craft solutions
  • Computer savvy; proficient in MS Office, Google Suite and other event-related design software as required and other industry leading communication and collaboration platforms, file sharing sites, and other tools to aid in project management
  • Must be extremely detail oriented, on-time and accurate with excellent organizational skills
  • Eagerness to learn, explore and develop new skills and broader understanding of event and client needs to strengthen company performance
  • A knack for problem-solving and reacting with efficiency and competence, even under strenuous circumstances or stressful situations
  • Customer-service oriented with excellent client management and advocacy skills
  • Deep experience with brand communications, media, and messaging
  • BSc/BA in PR, marketing, hospitality management or related field is required

Other Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs is sometimes required for on-site work
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work on location and remotely with ease
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods is sometimes required for onsite work
  • Onsite/event work can include long hours
  • Ability to travel and work remotely on site each month
  • A team player with leadership skills, ability to empower others to get the job done
