Position Summary:
The JK Adams Factory Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the factory, ensuring efficient production, quality control, and adherence to safety and HR standards. This leadership role is key to aligning production with sales demand, maintaining cost-effective manufacturing, and ensuring a safe, productive workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Personnel Management:
· Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and supporting production staff to build a strong, efficient team.
· Manage team performance through clear expectations, regular feedback, and support for professional growth.
· Ensure a safe, respectful, and productive work environment.
· Lead and support production teams, including main mill, finishing, packing & shipping, and maintenance.
· Supervise buildings and grounds subcontractors for facility upkeep and compliance.
Production Planning & Oversight:
· Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet sales and inventory goals.
· Monitor production performance against schedules and established standards, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
· Ensure high standards of quality, productivity, and on-time delivery are met consistently.
Costing & Process Development:
· Work collaboratively with the controller and product design group to determine manufacturing methods and accurate cost models for each new product.
· Implement efficient production processes to improve margins and reduce waste.
Safety, Compliance & HR:
· Develop and enforce workplace safety programs in accordance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
· Address HR issues within the production team, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
· Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant work environment.
Qualifications:
· 3–5 years of experience in factory or production management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
· Strong leadership and team management skills.
· Experience with production scheduling, cost analysis, and process improvement.
· Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or process improvement techniques is a plus.
· Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with MRP/ERP systems is desirable.
· Knowledge of safety standards and HR practices.
· Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Additional Details:
· Monday – Friday, Full-time.
· Occasional travel to trade shows or vendor locations may be required.
