Bookkeeper - Part-Time to Full-Time

Position Overview:
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing the financial records of our diverse client base. This role involves handling day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and contributing to the development of robust accounting systems using modern IT and software solutions. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop, possess a comprehensive understanding of payroll processes, and have a strong ability to manage various bookkeeping tasks efficiently and accurately. This position offers flexibility in terms of hours (part-time or full-time) and the opportunity to work with a dynamic team that is transforming the way businesses manage their finances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable for multiple clients, including processing invoices, payments, and collections.
- Process and manage payroll accurately and efficiently for various clients, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, and ensuring timely and compliant payroll submissions.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis to ensure accuracy for multiple client accounts.
- Maintain and update the general ledger for clients, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and classified.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for clients as needed.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures for client accounts.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting regulations and tax requirements for clients.
- Manage fixed asset records and depreciation schedules for clients (if applicable).
- Prepare and file sales tax returns for clients.
- Utilize and adapt to various accounting software and IT solutions to streamline bookkeeping processes.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal team members regarding financial matters.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation for all clients.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient bookkeeping workflows and processes.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest accounting software and industry best practices.
- Perform other bookkeeping and administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in a client-facing environment or accounting firm.
- In-depth knowledge and proficiency in both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
- Comprehensive understanding of payroll processing, including all related regulations and tax requirements.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to maintaining high-quality financial records.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple client accounts effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience with other accounting software and IT solutions is a plus.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new technologies.
