The primary purpose of this role is to develop and execute comprehensive fundraising and marketing strategies, cultivating relationships with stakeholders, leading marketing initiatives, and overseeing internal and external communications to ensure delivery of quality services in accordance with our governing bodies; Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), the Department of Health (DOH), and the Department of Labor (DOL) at all times. The VP of Development & Marketing serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for building and implementing a strategic and diversified fundraising plan to advance the mission and financial sustainability of the organization.
Responsibilities
Fundraising:
- Develop and execute comprehensive, data-driven, multi-year fundraising strategies to support the organization's mission and goals, and secure financial support from a diverse range of sources, including foundations, corporations, and individual donors.
- Set stretch goals to support sustainable revenue streams.
- In partnership with the CEO, and the fundraising team, identify and cultivate relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
- Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns, such as the organization’s annual gala, walks, annual appeal, etc.
- Create, manage, and monitor annual fundraising plans and budgets specific to department staffing and fundraising goals.
- Cultivate and partner with Board of Directors to increase participation and fundraising.
- Partner with EVP &Chief Financial Officer to ensure operational expenditures are in line with budget.
- Ensures organization is represented in a professional manner to the public at all times through staff and volunteer interactions.
- Oversees major gifts, planned giving, grants, corporate solicitations, annual giving, special events, third-party, and United Way giving to increase donor base.
Marketing:
- Develop and implement marketing strategy and annual marketing plans focused on brand building, and community visibility and trust.
- Develop marketing materials and advertising to promote organization’s programs and events, ensuring message and image consistency with the organization’s brand.
- Oversee the organization's online presence, including website design and content, social media, email marketing, and digital advertising to broaden awareness of organization’s programs and priorities, and increase the visibility across key audiences.
- Oversee the development of creative materials, media buying, and promotions.
- Manage and utilize content creation and social media management platforms.
- Analyze and report on marketing initiatives’ performance, using data to inform and optimize strategies.
- Collaborate with EVP & COO to promote and market organization’s programs and services.
Communications:
- Develop and implement internal and external communication strategies for promoting organization’s mission, vision, programs, events, and announcements.
- Manage public relations efforts, including media outreach and crisis communications.
- Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all organizational communications.
- Create and produce organizational Newsletter for electronic and mail distribution.
- Design and updates organization’s intranet (HUB).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with ten years supervisory experience in related discipline; Master’s Degree preferred with seven (7) years supervisory experience in related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License. A valid license is required to operate company vehicles. May drive own vehicle at times.
- Mature interpersonal/professional skills to effectively collaborate, resolve issues, and maintain confidentiality.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use poise, tact, and diplomacy, during difficult and/or stressful situations.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, and customer requests, while meeting deadlines.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs to include Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and various applications aligned with projects.
- Knowledge of donor database platforms (e.g. CRM).
- Strong knowledge of creative platforms (Adobe, Canva) and of social media management platforms (Hootsuite).
- Must maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion concerning all business-related matters, including but not limited to board/vendors/donors’ names, investigations, finance, operations, and employee relations matters.
- Must complete specific required training as mandated by our governing agency, OPWDD & DOL at time of hire and annually thereafter.
- Must adhere to all departmental /company policies& procedures at all times& ensure compliance with direct report.
Salary Range
- $115k - $125k

Salary : $115,000 - $125,000
