JK Executive Strategies is proud to partner with a large nonprofit in search of a VP of Education, Employment and Day Services to join its team! We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as the Vice President of Education, Employment, and Day Services. This pivotal role provides leadership and oversight for day and employment services, child care programs, and the organization’s educational initiatives. Charged with fostering a high-quality, person-centered service approach, the VP will play a key role in advancing the agency’s mission while driving innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration across teams. As a champion of diversity, equity, and inclusion, this individual will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure excellence in service delivery and operational success.
Responsibilities
Service Delivery
- Facilitates a philosophy within service delivery that supports self-direction, community participation and contribution, productivity, full citizenship, diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Responsible for understanding the current best practice in service delivery and creating an environment for innovation and creativity. Demonstrates a detailed awareness of ongoing development within service lines to position the agency to serve the needs of people choosing our service.
- Consistently challenges the status quo in service options and works to develop broader, yet customized options of support for people who choose our services.
- Ensures collaborative work between people choosing our services, families, day services team, clinical team, and other department leaders to achieve outstanding results.
- Leads and provides oversight to the childcare programs. Stays apprised of best practice in the industry and general knowledge of OCFS best practices, regulations and requirements.
Leadership and Supervision:
- Provides direction and leadership to service teams to foster high quality, person-centered services that comply with agency policies, regulations, state and federal law.
- Assists teams in managing financial resources, operational budgets and capital purchases
- Serves as a champion of our Compass process.Analyzes both incidents and compass data and trends to identify performance initiatives that advance quality outcomes
- Promotes excellence through coaching and performance reviews of direct reports. Provides empowered opportunities for direct reports and other key personnel to grow.

- Inspires, reinforces and drives the continuous development of a person-centered and quality focused culture that is reflective of the agency’s mission, vision, values and behaviors.

Strategic Planning and Implementation
- Contributes to the organization’s strategic planning process, goals and project work. Communicates with team members to foster alignment around a shared vision and serves as an ambassador for our project work by either participating or determining designees for appropriate project work.
Strengthen Collaborative Relationships and System Design
- Engages in meaningful and collaborative relationships with other agency leaders. Is a member of the executive leadership team and attends and participates in monthly meetings.
- Maintains strong relationships with external partners OPWDD, Access VR, OCFS and Cornell University.
- Works alongside external partners who align with our mission to improve the experience of the caring professional.
Project Management and Data Driven Processes
- Plans and directs proactive, data driven continuous improvement plans to improve overall quality of services and care provided to people supported by the agency.
- Partners to create, implement and report on various operational plans and functions in collaboration with Business Intelligence and Analytics to ensure metrics, dashboards and reporting are accurate, relevant, meaningful and actionable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education, human services or related field.
- 10 years’ experience working in long term care, childcare and/or with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- 5 years of experience leading high performing teams and managing complex systems
- Knowledge of OPWDD and OCFS strategies, regulations and compliance standards.
- 2 years of experience using data systems and analytics to optimize performance.
- Strong knowledge in systems thinking, process design and continuous improvement.
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking with a high level of emotional competence.
- Excellent problem solving, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and foster strong partnerships with internal and external interest groups.
- Demonstrated competence in promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Alignment with the agency’s mission, vision, values and behaviors.
- A valid NYS driver’s license that complies with agency standards.
Salary Range
- $120-155k

Salary : $120,000 - $155,000
