Job Title: Service Detailer

Location: Kiefer Nissan Volvo Cars of Corvallis

Job Summary: The Service Detailer is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall presentation of vehicles at the dealership. This role involves cleaning and detailing both new and used vehicles, preparing cars for delivery to customers, and ensuring the vehicles meet dealership standards for quality and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vehicle Cleaning and Detailing:

  • Wash, wax, and buff vehicles, both exterior and interior, to ensure they are spotless and ready for customer delivery.
  • Clean and vacuum vehicle interiors, including carpets, seats, and upholstery, ensuring all surfaces are free of dirt, stains, and odors.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and all exterior trim, including wheels, tires, and rims.
  • Apply protective coatings, such as wax or tire dressing, to enhance the vehicle's appearance and protect surfaces.

• Inspection and Quality Control:

  • Perform thorough inspections of vehicles to ensure that all areas are cleaned to dealership standards.
  • Identify and report any defects or issues with the vehicle’s condition, such as scratches, dents, or mechanical problems, to the service or sales team.

• Vehicle Preparation for Delivery:

  • Prepare vehicles for customer delivery by ensuring they are spotless, both inside and out, before they leave the dealership.
  • Assist with vehicle lot organization and movement, ensuring that vehicles are staged appropriately for viewing or customer test drives.

• Maintenance of Cleaning Equipment and Supplies:

  • Maintain and organize cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Ensure that cleaning products and equipment are in good working condition and reorder supplies as necessary.

• Customer Interaction:

  • Occasionally assist customers with vehicle questions, directing them to the appropriate team member if necessary.
  • Provide top-notch customer service by ensuring vehicles are presented in a pristine condition, contributing to a positive dealership experience.

• Other Duties:

  • Assist with light maintenance or other duties as required by the service department.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to maintain the cleanliness of the service department.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in vehicle detailing or a similar role is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of cleaning products, tools, and techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality results.
• Good communication skills and a customer-service-oriented attitude.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, and work in varying environmental conditions (indoors/outdoors).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and reach for extended periods of time.
• Comfortability with outdoor work in various weather conditions.

Working Hours:

• Full-time, with the possibility of evening and weekend shifts depending on dealership needs.
