Pharmacy Call Center Representative: Work From Home Position

Job Summary

We are seeking a Call Center Representative with strong customer service skills and pharmacy-related call center experience. This remote role involves handling inbound and outbound calls, assisting patients with prescription inquiries, and ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and thrives in a fast-paced customer service environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound and outbound calls to assist patients with pharmacy-related inquiries.
  • Provide accurate information regarding prescriptions, medication refills, insurance, and pharmacy services.
  • Assist customers with placing orders, processing prescription refills, and coordinating medication deliveries.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict patient confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Research and resolve customer complaints, billing issues, and insurance verification.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate patient records in pharmacy systems.
  • Utilize proper phone etiquette and active listening skills to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, and healthcare providers to ensure efficient service.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a call center, pharmacy customer service, or healthcare-related role.
  • Must be available to attend onsite training for one week before transitioning to remote work.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, prescription processing, and insurance verification preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR), pharmacy management software, or CRM systems.
  • Ability to handle high call volumes while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be comfortable working with sensitive patient information and following HIPAA guidelines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in healthcare or pharmacy-related fields is a plus.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
