DB2 Database Administrator - Local to Texas only

Job Title: DB2 Database Administrator

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced DB2 Database Administrator to support and maintain enterprise-level DB2 databases across various environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DB2 on Linux/Unix platforms, shell scripting, and a solid understanding of performance tuning and troubleshooting in high-availability systems. Experience with DB2 on Z/OS is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and manage DB2 databases across AIX, Unix, and Linux platforms

• Monitor and optimize database performance, availability, and scalability

• Create and maintain backup/recovery procedures and ensure data integrity

• Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation and administration tasks

• Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide timely resolutions

• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application requirements

• Participate in database upgrades, patching, and migrations

Required Qualifications:

• 8 years of experience with DB2 Database Administration

• 3 years of experience on AIX/Unix/Linux platforms

• Strong shell scripting and automation skills

• Solid understanding of database security, tuning, and performance optimization

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with DB2 on Z/OS (mainframe) environments

• Exposure to cloud platforms or DevOps environments is a plus
