**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on equipment, machinery, and building systems to ensure optimal operation and safety. This position requires a proactive approach to maintenance, with an emphasis on preventative measures to enhance longevity and functionality. The Maintenance Technician must have a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively and efficiently. Work well with others, have a valid driver's license, their own transportation and their own tools.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, electrical systems, HVAC systems, plumbing, and general facilities upkeep to ensure optimal operation.
- Conduct inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential issues; assess the need for repairs or replacements.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing fixtures, electrical systems, HVAC units, and other equipment; replace parts as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
- Collaborate with supervisors and other team members on larger maintenance projects and repairs.
- Assist with the installation and setup of new equipment as required.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices while performing all maintenance tasks.
- Attend training and development programs to enhance skills and stay updated with industry trends.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Site Manager.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; or ability to show years of experience.
- Proven experience in a maintenance role, construction or handyman experience.
- Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and other maintenance-related areas.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools, as well as maintenance equipment.
- Valid driver’s license may be required, as well as the ability to traverse the facility as needed.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to [specify weight]) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Stamina to work in various environments and conditions (e.g., indoors, outdoors, confined spaces, heights).
- Availability for on-call duties and overtime as needed.
