What this job involves - The lab strategy planning manager will be responsible for managing strategic Lab planning projects and initiatives that include long term supply and demand planning, space analysis, scenario development, partnering with our client's Strategic Portfolio Planning, Lab Program Managers, Business Partners and collaboration with JLL OP, Delivery, PjM, Engineering Pillars. In this role, you will manage, mentor and guide a 4 person team to cater to the dynamic client's Lab Program.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES (7-10 with highest % time spent listed first):
Ability to oversee and guide team as well as perform the following duties to meet client needs:
- Scenario planning and strategy
- Analytic ability - scenario planning analysis
- Create pivot table, v-look up, conditional formatting, etc.
- Space layout option development / test fits
- Option evaluation for impact, benefit, risk, dependencies
- Block plans, allocation plans, adjacency plans
- Problem statement and business justification writing
- Analyze and identify trends in space allocation and usage for optimization opportunities.
- Communicate with other vendor partners, including Delivery, PM, and FM, for cross-PA-specific initiatives
- Create and maintain trackers for Lab initiatives
- Create and maintain detailed schedules and milestones for Lab initiatives
- Conduct project initiatives meetings (including taking and sharing minutes) and track deliverables assigned in meetings
- Ensure space planning activities are executed in compliance with SLAs and client satisfaction targets
- Able to provide occupancy planning support for PAs, if needed, in support of requested activities - programming, planning analysis, solution development inclusive of space plans, occupancy master plans, furniture/equipment lab layouts, test fits and block plans
- Ability to analyze field data (surveys), and clearly communicate actionable insights and opportunities for design and innovation
- Oversee POR quarterly issuances with the strategic planning team and client's SPP team
- Maintain and track lab movement in tools such as Google Workspace
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Bachelor's Degree required
Specify preferred major: Interior Design, Architecture, Space Planning
LEED AP, California Architect's license preferred
Ability to read, understand MEP drawings
WORK EXPERIENCE:
12 years of related work experience in interior design, architecture, space planning, space strategy, data analytics, or project management required
Specialized knowledge / skills:
Proficient in AutoCAD, and has previously used a CAFM system, Bluebeam
Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
Proficient in a project scheduling software (MS Projects or Smartsheet)
Advanced spreadsheet skills required, e.g. experience in tracking data in a spreadsheet with extensive use of formulas
Proficient in Space Planning, Programming, and Occupancy Strategy
General understanding of basic data lab technical requirements is a plus
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
Detail oriented with excellent analytical, research, and organizational skills
Ability to influence the outcome of receipt of acceptable and timely documents
Capable of performing in a fast paced environment with measurable results
Ability to quickly pivot on project deliverables
Accountability for work performed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL WORK CONDITIONS:
- Involves work of a general office nature; typically includes extended periods of sitting and/or operation of a computer for up to 8 hours a day
- May involve periods of standing, such as operating at a copier/fax/scanner.
- Regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to write and type.
- Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.
- Ability to read and comprehend information and ideas presented orally and in writing.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing and orally so others will understand.
- Regularly required to utilize vision abilities, allowing reading of printed material, graphics, and computer displays.
Estimated total compensation for this position:
143,000.00 - 175,000.00 USD per yearThe total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
