What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at JLL?
Summary of Job Description:
The Material Handler handles, moves, and stores, various non-hazardous materials from storage units to sites. Their main duties include loading and unloading different transport items, recording inventory statuses, and making sure deliveries properly match purchase orders. The Material Handler will meet delivery drivers at sites to accept deliveries, unpackage, assemble, and dispose of packaging materials. Assist with basic handyman duties and support the mobile technicians
Primary Responsibilities:
- Move materials from delivery/freight trucks, pick up and move material from storage areas to sites
- Operate company vehicle to deliver material
- Identifying and locating the right products during the delivery process
- Answer phone calls and questions regarding delivery status, and other duties
- Comply with all company safety rules and guidelines
- Perform basic handyman duties and other duties and tasks assigned
- Support the technicians
Qualifications:
- The candidate must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1 to 3 years of related experience
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and general building maintenance
- The successful candidate must be a self-motivated individual who can work independently or in a team environment
- Must have basic writing and great communication skills
- Stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Regularly bend and lift, move and/or carry up to 10 pounds; Frequently lift, move and/or carry up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift, move and/or carry up to 70 pounds
- Ability to comply with both Jones Lang LaSalle and client-directed policies, and procedures
