What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stationary Engineer (Kitchen Equipment) position at JLL?
The Stationary Engineer will have a strong focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing kitchen and facility equipment on all systems. Individuals are expected to demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area (understanding of refrigeration cycle, customer service, appliance
component knowledge, Kitchen appliances, motors, compressors, heating elements, control boards, CO2 systems, piping/plumbing, troubleshooting and electrical diagrams) as well as HVAC, and Central Utility Plant Operation and be multi-skilled in others in order to successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments.
Essential Functions:
Execute a wide variety of maintenance and repair work in relation to the installation, maintenance, and repairs of hot/cold kitchen appliances, walk-in refrigerators/freezers, CO2 refrigeration skids, condensers, evaporators, ice machines, ovens, dish washing machines, conveyors, compressors and boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, and building equipment.
Perform repairs to the Kitchen appliances, refrigeration equipment as well as associated equipment and piping/Plumbing, Structural, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems.
Maintenance of the equipment will include troubleshooting, cleaning, inspecting, calibrating and changing parts to maintain the kitchen appliances/equipment and HVAC systems and associated equipment at optimum performance levels Quality Control.
Perform a wide variety of complex operating procedures to ensure the proper operation of the kitchen appliances/equipment, CO2 systems, refrigeration systems, steam boilers, lab utilities, emergency generator operation, the propane vaporizer and others.
Maintain all kitchens, engineering/electrical and mechanical spaces in a clean and neat manner at all times.
Conducts scheduled tours of the Kitchens and associated equipment, boiler plant, chiller plant and lab utility equipment to include cooling towers, emergency generator rooms; main switchgear rooms, air handling machine rooms as well as steam stations and condensate return systems.
Review executed work orders, logs, forms, and related documentation on a daily basis to help ensure they are complete, current, and reflect the tasks as performed, and are appropriated filed in the CMMS, or other required system.
Maintain a logbook over the duration of the apprenticeship period, recording projects that have been undertaken and the skills learned.
Understand and utilize personal protective equipment.
Perform all work in accordance with federal, state, and local safety requirements.
Document all movement of appliances or tagged equipment on a daily basis.
Any and all other tasks assigned
Qualifications:
High-school degree, GED, or equivalent
Must have an EPA 608 universal certificate
Strong communication amp; computer skills
Must have general knowledge of industry maintenance and repair practices
Must successfully have passed the Local 39 apprentice exam, or met the criteria as explained by the apprenticeship standards for IUOE Local 39
