Job Description:
The Senior Cost Estimator will be responsible for developing detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects. This involves reviewing and analyzing contract documents, conducting quantity takeoffs, and identifying bid qualifications, risks, and assumptions.
Responsibilities/Skills:
- Estimating functions and associated workflows in a team environment.
- Reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting Contract Documents to develop detailed cost estimates.
- Performing accurate quantity takeoffs for earthwork, concrete work, and underground piping and drainage.
- Identifying bid qualifications, risks, and assumptions along with quantities and pricing.
- Ensuring estimates and proposals are performed in accordance with company practices and standards.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the pre-bid process.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A proven track record of previous administrative experience in engineering and/or civil construction work.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented individual.
