Position : Construction Estimator - Commercial Construction - Bedford, NH

JLN Contracting is growing and is seeking a Commercial Construction Estimator to join our highly-experienced team in our Connecticut and New Hampshire offices. We are a dynamic and growing firm that provides pre-construction and construction services to the Industrial, Commercial, Financial, Medical, Retail and Automotive market sectors throughout the Northeast. POSITION DESCRIPTION :
The primary role of a Project Estimator is oversight and accountability for project bidding, scheduling, risk analysis for new projects. This task involves monitoring project plans, schedules, budgets, and expenditures, organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner.

POSITION DUTIES :
- Review project plans and specifications to develop RFI’s relevant to the project being bid. This process will include travel as necessary for subcontractor walk through, pre-bid meetings, etc.
- Identify project risks, issues and their order of magnitude.
- Prepares instructions to bidders, bid forms and other bid solicitation information as required and post to JLN’s electronic bidding site in order to solicit subcontractor and / or supplier information & pricing.
- Review, manage, scope and qualify sub-contractor bids.
- Prepare conceptual budgets, sometimes based on minimal information (design build experience helpful).
- Review general conditions, schedule, scopes of work, hoisting plans, site logistics and other exhibits relevant to the project.
- Ensure that the flow of project information is maintained and documented during the bidding process.
- Review construct-ability issues with operational staff. Analyze alternate means and methods to determine the most economical alternative (design build experience helpful).
- Build effective relationships with customers, design team members, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values to meet or exceed our customer's expectations.
