JLR Accounting & Consulting (“JLR”) partners with accounting and finance teams to navigate complex accounting and financial reporting challenges. We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support our clients with day-to-day accounting operations, bookkeeping, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of general accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial close processes. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required, as many of our clients rely on this platform for their financial operations. This role will work closely with client finance teams, Controllers, and CFOs, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with accounting policies, and seamless execution of accounting functions.
This is a hybrid role, requiring occasional in-person meetings with clients and stakeholders. Candidates must reside in the Tri-State area (CT, NY, NJ) or Boston (MA).

Role and Responsibilities
- Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting documentation for management review
- Process accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and expense reporting
- Maintain accurate bank reconciliations and oversee cash flow reporting
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Collaborate with client teams to maintain accurate and organized financial records
- Assist with audit preparation, responding to requests and preparing supporting schedules
- Provide support for ad hoc financial projects, system implementations, and process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- CPA, CA, or equivalent certification (or actively working towards such certification)
- 3 years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a client-facing or outsourced accounting role
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required; experience with other accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) is a plus
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles (U.S. GAAP), financial reporting, and reconciliations
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently
