Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE: The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of construction materials, debris, and equipment to and from job sites, ensuring timely deliveries and compliance with all safety and traffic regulations. This role involves loading and unloading materials, maintaining accurate records, and performing basic vehicle maintenance while providing excellent communication with dispatchers, site personnel, and customers.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred or will accept equivalent work experience.
  • Valid Driver's License and copy of driver’s record or letter of clearance from the DMV
  • Current Forklift Certification

  • Possess physical strength and endurance to successfully complete demanding tasks.
  • Understands safety procedures and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  • Ability to use basic hand and trade tools.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug screening & background check.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

MAIN JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely load, transport, and unload materials, debris, and equipment to and from job sites.
  • Follow pre-determined delivery routes and schedules efficiently.
  • Operate a commercial truck (dump truck, flatbed, etc.) safely and responsibly.
  • Keep accurate records of deliveries; complete and submit necessary delivery paperwork.
  • Perform daily basic vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Clean-up and load waste/debris on jobsites and dispose of at proper waste facilities.
  • Shuttle vehicles to repair shop as requested.
  • Gather and properly record materials and equipment lent to technicians daily and ensure accurate documentation.

PHYSICAL: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, and crouch.
  • The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, computer equipment and peripherals; ability to climb ladders, and access confined spaces.
  • Ability to climb stairs, scaffolding, ladders, bend, stoop, crawl, squat, reach and move 6 hours at a time.
  • Must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Finger dexterity and mobility to walk on uneven terrain.
  • Must have the ability to lift 80 pounds with regularity.

WORKING CONDITIONS: This position involves working both indoors but a majority of the time will be outdoors with varying weather conditions and noise levels. Exposure to dust, fumes, mold, and chemicals may occur. The employee may work near heavy equipment and moving mechanical parts. The hours may be longer during specific projects
