Job Description

Leading metals manufacturing company is seeking to fill entry-level production worker positions at its plant in the Lebanon, VA area.

EDUCATIONAL / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

HS / GED Preferred

JOB QUALIFICATIONS :

Possess dependability to be consistently at work and on time with the ability to work a flexible schedule that may include all shifts
Possess basic reading and math skills including knowledge of fractions and decimals
Possess basic measuring skills using tape measure and micrometers
Possess fundamental listening, verbal, written communication skills
Possess ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines throughout production processes
Possess a "Team Member" mentality with quality assurance mindset
Possess repetitive standing, bending capability; near / far vision, manual dexterity, multiple limb coordination with moderate lifting capability (up to 65lbs).

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES :

Perform daily inspection of work area to check for safety hazards.

Perform operator actions at a training-level capacity under the direction of a mentor employee as assigned by supervisory personnel following standard operating procedures and safety protocols.

Perform various general labor duties as assigned daily by supervisory personnel per standard operating procedures and safety protocols.

Perform work station and surrounding area housekeeping duties as required.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES :

Perform any other related general labor duties as assigned by supervisory personnel .

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

Work performance is conducted in conveyor belt manufacturing plant that contains heavy production machinery and job-specific equipment and tools.

Safety training, written procedures, and continual improvement measures are implemented to eliminate or control any physical / environmental hazards that may be present in the work place.

Employee use of personal protective equipment is enforced for all phases of job performance to prevent bodily injury.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Job performance demands constant application of the following physical requirements : use of hands, manual dexterity.

Job performance demands frequent application of the following physical requirements : lifting (up to 65 lbs.), carrying, standing, reaching, twisting, fine manipulation, near / ;far vision, multiple limb coordination.

Job performance demands occasional application of the following physical requirements : walking, sitting, overhead, reach / lift, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, balancing, close visual acuity, total visual field upper limb coordination.
