Ironworker

Summary

As an Ironworker, you will be essential in constructing and reinforcing structures, ensuring safety and stability. Reporting to the Construction Supervisor, your core skills in blueprint reading, welding, and fabrication will be vital in executing projects accurately. Your relevant skills in rigging and mechanical knowledge will enhance your effectiveness on the job site. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Measuring and cutting components to the correct length.

· Bending and shaping elements to ensure a precise fit.

· Aligning beams and welding in place to build structures.

· Inspecting work in progress to ensure quality.

· Signal crane operators who lift and position structural and reinforcing iron and steel.

· Use shears, rod-bending machines, torches, hand tools, and welding equipment to cut, bend and weld the structural and reinforcing iron and steel.

· Align structural and reinforcing iron and steel vertically and horizontally, using tag lines, plumb tools, lasers and levels.

· Connect iron and steel with bolts, wire or welds.

· Adhere to all company and project safety rules and regulations and be familiar with all safety equipment.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

· Comply with all OSHA rules and regulations.

Qualifications

• Proficient in blueprint reading and fabrication techniques
• Strong basic math skills for measurements and calculations
• Experience with rigging and mechanical knowledge
• Familiarity with construction site operations and safety protocols
• Ability to operate cranes and forklifts
• Knowledge of ductwork, pipe threading, and schematics

All candidates must have a valid drivers license or identification card, must be able to pass a drug screen and be fit for duty. There is no PerDiem for this job.
