Position Summary
As a Mechanical or Chemical Engineer intern, you will participate and assist in one or more of the following : design process, review, fabrication, assembly, mechanical design, boiler steam operations, pumps and pump systems, CMMS, HVAC, cavity models, and project management.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Cooperates with the EHS&S Manager to adhere to all regulatory requirements for plant operation while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Understands Lock / Out, Tag / Out, and Try / Out procedures.
- Performs work under the supervision of senior engineers and / or managers.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Understanding AutoCAD.
- Participate in process validation activities. Understand process flow.
- Participate in environmental and reliability testing.
- Provide process engineering assistance to troubleshoot operational problems, minimize unit interruptions, and maximize asset utilization.
- Understand cavity prediction models (monitor and predict existing cavities, use to plan well reversal / new well drilling / pullbacks).
- Works closely with Operations to understand the production and process.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with plant employees.
- Other projects as assigned.
- Prepare and formally present project work to the Plant Management at the end of the internship.
