Position Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of the mechanical equipment throughout the site using personal decision-making to insure minimal disruption to the production process. This department is scheduled to provide services to the entire facility 7 days a week. A Mechanic may be required to work in one or more plant areas, doing one or multiple assignments during any given work-shift. Call-ins are a requirement of this position. This position requires a high level of self-management, punctuality, good attendance, and the ability to adjust to a variety of assignments.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Repair, replacement and installation of equipment including pumps, screw conveyors, rotary valves, relief valves, motors, conveyors, and its auxiliaries like pipes, flanges, gaskets, mechanical seals, filters.
- Align, disassemble and rebuild production equipment such as reciprocating compressors, steam turbines, bearing members, gearboxes and pumps.
- Utilization of micrometers and calipers to repair equipment; operation of drill press, hydraulic press, pedestal grinder, mill equipment and lathes.
- Work independently or in pairs to repair equipment at workstation. Uses a variety of handheld tools which must be grasped manually, applying as much as 100 pounds of torque to disassemble mechanical units.
- Walk / Stand upon a variety of surfaces to transport materials, equipment and tools between work areas. Required to stand approximately 5-6 hours per day. Standing / walking takes place upon concrete, asphalt, metal grated and diamond steel plated walkways and stairways. Required to climb as high as 5 flights of stairs 3-4 times a day to reach work area. Must be able to kneel, crouch, or crawl to reach restricted access work areas a minimum of 1-2 times daily.
- Work in varying environmental conditions. Required to work primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions. Outside temperatures may range from -32oF to an excess of 100oF. Indoor temperatures can be 110oF or higher.

In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
