About the Role
The Logistics Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and accurate flow of materials through our shipping, receiving, and inventory processes. This includes the packaging, shipping, and receiving of products with significant interaction with the ERP system, as well as coordinating internal and external logistics. A crucial part of the role is to collaborate cross-functionally to track production and manage inventory while maintaining high standards of accuracy, timeliness, and customer service.
Essential Function / Duties*
Shipping & Receiving
- Safely and efficiently package outgoing shipments to prevent product damage, adhering to established work instructions, and assisting in the development of these processes.
- Ensure all shipments include necessary documentation and are shipped with appropriate labels.
- Prepare shipping labels and paperwork.
- Manage logistics for freight and coordinate the timely shipment of all items.
- Maintain inventory of packaging materials (e.g., boxes, bubble wrap, etc.) to ensure a constant supply.
- Receive all incoming packages and distribute them to appropriate locations.
- Receive purchase orders from secondary processors and transfer product to inspection. If there is an attached PO, receive that as well.
Logistics
- Create purchase orders (POs) and manufacturing orders (MOs) within the ERP system, ensuring accurate documentation for outsourced and external processing.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through physical stock management and cycle counting.
- Support purchasing for both direct and indirect materials to ensure timely stock replenishment.
- Monitor internal and external order statuses, identifying potential delays and taking proactive steps to ensure on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless order fulfillment, resolving any discrepancies or delays promptly.
Raw Material
- Physically issue and stage all raw material for turning and milling centers, documenting on correct paperwork and completing transactions in GP.
- Cut material to length for milling centers using band saw.
- Prepare and print manufacturing order packets for upcoming production runs, using multiple software programs to ensure all specifications are correct.
- Maintain a keen eye for detail to ensure all materials are handled correctly and all transactions are logged accurately in the system.

Work Schedule / Supervision
Position: Full-time: 40 hours/week, potential for more.
Position Status: Non-exempt position; with compensation and without notice
Recommended Education / Experience
Education: High school education, post-secondary education in manufacturing technology or laboratory sciences preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment and familiarity with inspection tools and processes preferred. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
