We are a UNIQUE snow removal company, responsible for removing ice and snow from TRACTOR TRAILER TOPS! Our team plays a crucial role in keeping the roads safe during the winter season. Safety is always our #1 priority.

If you are comfortable working in the cold weather and are looking for an opportunity to earn extra income during the winter, we want to hear from you. This job is ideal for individuals who have seasonal jobs (Spring, Summer, Fall) and are slow or laid off in the winter. We prefer to hire people with flexible or open availability during winter months. If you do not have flexibility with your current employer, or at least 3 consecutive days per week of full availability please do not apply.

This is a seasonal/per diem position; we ONLY work when it snows ( a few days after).

Job Description

• Technicians work in teams of 2-4
• Teams travel from location to location removing ice and snow from the tops of tractor trailers using an extension ladder to climb onto the trailer and a snow shovel to remove the ice and snow. The service technicians alternate servicing every other trailer.
• Lead technicians are responsible for safely driving the service vehicle between locations and overseeing the safety, professionalism and service quality of their team.
• Supporting technicians are the passengers in the service vehicle.
• For every location and trailer serviced there is service information that needs to be documented using our digital platform.
• Although we do get some service calls during a storm, most of our work begins right as the snow dies down. This can be at any point throughout the day or night.
• Shorter in-town routes and longer out-of-town routes may be available based on the size of the storm.
• We have work in 11 states throughout the northeast so travel opportunities are sometimes available.

• Experience working jobs where manual labor is required
• Experience with using ladders and comfortable with heights (we work 13ft above the ground)
• Experience working outside in the cold weather preferred
• Physically fit to safely perform the job and lift at least 40 pounds
• Possess a consistent positive attitude with the ability to stay calm in challenging situations
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
• Reliable smartphone with app capabilities to clock-in/clock-out and document service information

***Lead Technician Job Qualifications and Expectations***

• Must be 21 years or older (must be 21 to drive our service vehicles)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record verified by DMV
• CDL (a plus; not required)
• Experience driving company vehicles at previous jobs is preferred
• Experienced and comfortable driving in adverse weather conditions
• Expected to follow all the rules of the road per NYS laws and regulations
• Experience working jobs where manual labor is required
• Experience with using ladders and comfortable with heights (we work 13ft above the ground)
• Experience working outside in the cold weather preferred
• Physically fit to safely perform the job and lift at least 40 pounds
• Possess a consistent positive attitude with the ability to stay calm in challenging situations
• Strong communication skills and ability to motivate and work well on a team
• Experience working and successfully completing job responsibilities without direct supervision
• Reliable smartphone with app capabilities to clock-in/clock-out and document service information

Wages Incentives

• Supporting Technicians: $20.00 - $25.00/hr
• Lead Technician “in training”: Starts at $22.00/hr (JMC requires in field training and assessments prior to promotion to a Certified Lead Technician)
• Certified Lead Technicians: $25.00 - $30.00/hr (Once promoted)
• We pay for travel time and hotel accommodations
• Company issued fuel card for Certified Lead Technicians

Bonus & Incentives

• End of season production bonus
• End of season Safe Driver Bonus (for Lead Technicians)
• Monthly route bonuses
• $50 stipends (tax free) for working at least a 12-hour shift
• $50 stipends (tax free) for each hotel stay
