JMCO Technologies is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to join our team. In this role, you will work on innovative and creative projects for a variety of industries, using your technical expertise to create high-quality designs to customer specifications. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, other designers, and the shop team to bring concepts to life, ensuring functionality, precision, and efficiency throughout the process.


Qualifications:


  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, particularly SOLIDWORKS, with 2D drafting experience as a plus
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience in designing for CNC machining, laser cutting, waterjet cutting, press brake forming, and other fabrication methods is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is a plus




Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop detailed mechanical designs, including parts, assemblies, and systems, using CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD
  • Create technical drawings, 3D models, and documentation for fabrication and assembly processes
  • Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to refine designs and meet customer requirements
  • Assist in design reviews with customers, incorporating feedback to optimize project outcomes
  • Work with the fabrication team to ensure designs align with JMCO’s shop capabilities and are optimized for efficient production
  • Perform calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection to ensure designs are functional and cost-effective
  • Ensure all designs meet applicable safety, industry, and quality standards
  • Support prototyping efforts by creating models and assisting in testing

Salary : $55,000 - $70,000
