Position Summary:
The Shop Foreman oversees the daily operations of the manufacturing and repair facility, ensuring that all mechanical motor, electrical motor, gearbox, and pump assemblies and repairs are completed to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The Foreman supervises a team of skilled technicians, allocates resources, monitors work progress, and ensures safety and compliance with industry regulations.
Requirements & Skills:
· High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in a mechanical or electrical motor shop environment, including 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
· Strong knowledge of motor repair, gearbox assembly, and pump mechanics.
· Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
· Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
· Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
Primary Duties Include:
· Supervise and lead a team of technicians, mechanics, and assemblers in the production and repair of motors, gearboxes, and pumps.
· Ensure that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
· Plan and assign tasks based on skill levels and equipment availability.
· Monitor workflow and adjust production schedules to meet deadlines and customer demands.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment that complies with OSHA and other safety standards.
· Perform quality control checks, inspect finished products, and troubleshoot any issues in the production process.
· Oversee the maintenance and proper functioning of machinery and equipment in the shop.
· Implement and enforce safety protocols, training programs, and operational procedures.
· Manage inventory of tools, parts, and materials necessary for production.
· Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Engineering, Quality Control, etc.) to ensure smooth operations and resolve technical issues.
· Ensure accurate and timely reporting of work completed, including any delays or issues.
· Conduct regular employee performance reviews and provide coaching or training as necessary.
· Troubleshoot mechanical issues as required and provide technical assistance to the team.
