What youll do :
Were looking for a Technical Editor (Contractor - 6 month role) who will perform edits on technical customer-facing deliverables, apply corporate style guidelines, writing guidelines, and Global English guidelines. You will be responsible for reviewing and refining written content to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy. This role involves checking grammar, punctuation, style, and overall readability. This individual will work with writers and other project stakeholders to contribute to overall quality of documentation and customer satisfaction.
You will :
- Perform policy edits, copyedits, and substantive edits. Apply corporate style guidelines, writing guidelines, and Global English guidelines consistently and effectively to customer-facing deliverables in the form of product documentation, embedded user assistance, how-to videos, slide shows, articles, and so on.
- Manage projects using applicable tools and reporting procedures. Work with writers and other project stakeholders to produce quality deliverables on time.
- Apply knowledge of markup languages (e.g., XML and HTML) as needed. Is proficient with all relevant tools in the Publications' publishing environment.
- Apply topic content models and document type models. Work with writers during the planning and writing stages to develop and organize context.
- Participate in reviews of user interface text and software messages as needed.
- Participate on department and division teams as needed.
- Know and apply the principles of substantive editing.
