Job Title: Outside Sales Professional
Do you have recent experience in the Steel Industry and would like to expand your career into sales? JMS is seeking a self-motivated and results-driven Outside Sales Rep to join our sales team in our Trenton, GA facility primarily with a customer base in Knoxville, TN and Atlanta GA. This position is responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and driving sales growth within this designated territory. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to analyze market trends, identify potential leads, and deliver exceptional customer service while promoting our products and services. Base salary plus bonus potential.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
- Conduct lead generation activities to identify potential clients and develop new business opportunities to promote the company’s products and increase customer base.
- Build, maintain, and nurture relationships with existing customers to ensure satisfaction of established customers and deliver repeat business.
- Perform territory management by strategically planning sales calls and visits to maximize efficiency.
- Engage in technical sales discussions with clients to understand their needs and propose suitable solutions. Responsible for negotiating and preparing material bids for significant clients by setting pricing and profit margins and formulating all plan details.
- Execute cold calling strategies to reach prospective clients and introduce the company’s offerings.
- Monitor technical and business objectives of prospective customers.
- Provide purchasing feedback as it relates to inventory levels, dead stock and new product evaluation.
- Maintain working knowledge of product lines.
- Negotiate skillfully and achieve acceptable profit margins in order to increase company’s profits and maintain company’s over-all financial health.
- Work closely with supporting staff to see orders through to correct and timely fulfillment and monitor quality controls.
- Provide leadership and maintain open lines of regular communication between all sales staff.
- Report customer issues immediately and provide customer support to resolve complaints and problems, while maintaining good relationships.
- Participate in trade shows, conferences, training and PR events periodically.
- Actively participate in training to increase sales skills and product knowledge.
- Participate in on-call schedule and inventory physical counts.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3-5 years of proven outside sales experience required.
- Must have recent Steel Industry experience REQUIRED (Please clearly highlight your steel experience on your resume).
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Strong analytical skills to assess market data and identify opportunities for growth.
- Proven experience in lead generation techniques and building a robust sales pipeline.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Effective territory management skills to optimize time spent in the field.
- Demonstrated success in outside sales roles with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Proficient in cold calling techniques to initiate contact with potential customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
