Job Description
The Small Business Financial Specialist will be responsible for managing the accounting function for several small business clients.
This includes ensuring each client maintains accurate and organized financial records, efficiently manages accounts payable and/or accounts receivable, and obtains key financial insights from their accounting data.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintaining organized QuickBooks Online files for multiple clients.
- Entering and categorizing checking account and credit card transactions.
- Managing accounts payable, including vendor setup and document collection, bill pay, and 1099s.
- Interpreting and forecasting client cash positions and communicating any needs.
- Documenting expenses, collecting invoices and receipts, and storing them securely.
- Filing and paying sales tax, excise tax, and property tax.
- Preparing month-end reports, including account reconciliations, projections vs. actuals, and compiling financial reports.
- Leading projects on income tax return filing and preparing financial statements.
- Managing client relationships and communication.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, with experience managing multiple company files preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of basic accounting principles, with a bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- Experience in or intimate knowledge of small business accounting processes, including bookkeeping, accounts payable, financial reporting, budgeting, and different business types and tax implications.
- Familiarity with Google Drive file management, cloud bill pay software, and accounting task management software.
