Roles and Responsibilities:
- Create a pool of employers who will provide program participants high-quality internship experiences (maximum 300 hours) and/or hire participants for unsubsidized employment within 90 days of program completion
- Match participants to internships based on both employer and student needs
- Work directly with employers to ensure internships provide participants exposure to key job roles and responsibilities; this includes holding check-ins with employers at the start, midway and at the end of hosting interns.
- Work with participants and employers to ascertain participants’ strengths and development needs mid-way and at internship completion
- Openly communicate with Mental Health professional and Case Managers regarding participant challenges regarding sourcing/retaining employment and/or internships, as appropriate
- Work with employers and students as internships complete, to source high-paying, sustainable employment for students post-internship (may or may not be at internship site)
- Work with students individually and in small groups throughout training program to ensure all students use best practices when applying for work, including having completed resumes and are prepared for CCMA-specific interviews
- Coordinate in-person employer visits to training classes. This includes working with participants to appropriately articulate questions to employers during classroom visits
- Work with instructors to ensure that trends in employer feedback are integrated into curriculum
- Work with instructors to devise and administer Sector/Program Assessment
- Support students at intake to ensure that the program participant chooses is appropriate based on their career interests and occupational goals.
- Work seamlessly with broader CRED team to provide holistic support to all participants
- All other tasks as administered by supervisor.
- At least three (3) years of successful and relevant experience serving the CRED target population: under/unemployed adults 18-40, involved in the criminal justice system or impacted by community violence, including but not limited to, job development, employer engagement, recruitment, and targeted industry experience in the proposed sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in cultivating employer relationships, particularly in smaller communities, like Staten Island
- Demonstrated cultural competence
- Experience working on a cross-functional team
- Excellent communication skills
