Reports to the Director, Payroll. Directly supervises Senior Accountant in the payroll department. Responsible for accuracy of payroll and timely filings of payroll taxes to all appropriate jurisdictions. This is an in-office position at our Headquarters in Centerville, UT.
Essential Functions
- Ensure taxes are calculated accurately and sent timely each week.
- Responsible for quarterly and annual tax withholding filings.
- Responsible for annual creation and distribution of W2 forms to all MTC employees.
- Reconcile payroll and payroll tax accounts.
- Review and clear payroll related items in error suspense.
- Assist MTC locations with payroll tax related inquiries.
- Responsible for interdivisional entries related to payroll.
- Assist in the preparation of audit requests as they arise.
- Responsible in providing payroll data to the Department of Labor on monthly and quarterly basis.
- Maintain accountability of property; adheres to safety practices.
- Demonstrate a commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.

- Ensure day-to-day activities promote sustainability and reduce the impact on the environment by minimizing waste and maximizing recycling; saving energy; and minimizing water usage.
- It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Minimum four years of experience, two of which must be supervisory.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of federal government accounting procedures and requirements.
- Must be willing and able to travel.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Unless waived by management, valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
