SUMMARY: Directs and inspects the work performed by employees to ensure the work performed meets standards. Assists in meeting customer requirements, even when outside typical areas of responsibility. Maintains a high level of productivity while working safely and dependably. Works effectively with other team members and continues to improve and develop skills and knowledge.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Directs and performs work assignments for various janitorial duties; conducts inspections to check the completion of work assignments and to ensure compliance to contract specifications.
- Responsible for the indoctrination of new employees in order to provide appropriate training. Demonstrate proper techniques to perform the specific tasks the employee is assigned; Instruct employees on proper use of safety equipment issued to them.
- Ensure employees have adequate supplies and equipment for completion of assignments. Monitor team activities in order to establish individual performance trends. Identify training and development needs of team members, and as assigned, train new and existing employees on proper cleaning techniques.
- Inform Operations Coordinator of Division Manager of any behaviors or incidents detrimental to our relationship with the Client or the requirements of the site contract. Keep Pass Down Log current with details of any incident or information that the following shift supervisor and Operations Coordinator or Division Manager should be aware of. Contact the Operations Coordinator or Division Manager by telephone to inform them of an incident that requires their immediate response and follow any instructions given.
- Interacts with Site Management on a regular basis to maintain open communications and coordinate efforts and insure attainment of mutual objectives. Notify Operations Coordinator or Division Manager of problems and/or concerns identified by site personnel.
- Adhere to the Company rules, technical procedures and safety policies as may be communicated verbally or in writing. Monitor all custodial tasks to ensure they are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the contract.
- Ensure that all employees have the appropriate safety equipment and instruction on use of safety equipment in order to meet all safety standards. Review all items of the Safety Orientation Form with employees on their first day of work. Provide leadership to team members and present a professional image to customer and co-workers, fostering exceptional customer service skills.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining the Company Quality Control Plan and ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System.
- Will attend all initial orientation reviews of Quality Control Plan-Systems for all relative sites and follow all daily inspections, as written.
- Complete Monthly Work Plan and submit to COTOR on the 25th of each preceding month. Input completed dates and inspect upon completion. Submit completed monthly Work Plan to COTOR and QAM.
- Attend all ISO meetings and schedule employee ISO Trainings as indicated on Internal Audit Schedule.
- Implement Company’s Corrective Action Request as non-conformances arise. Follow all non-conformances until they have been closed out.
- Train all employees on the Work Process Procedures, retraining when needed and place in individual training records.
- Maintain and manage all ISO records for internal and external audits.
- Maintain knowledge of all current building cleaning schedules. (see also, attached Monthly Inspection Schedules, verifying monthly changes)
- Due to the nature of the work being performed, punctual and regular attendance is required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises 1 to 20 employees doing custodial tasks. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Working knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals and equipment; of safety practices as related to work.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and understand service requests, container labels, product information, and directions on cleaning chemicals and other materials. Effectively read, write and speak English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Certificate of course completion and passing for State required Sexual Harassment Training within six (6) months of obtaining this position. Non-compliance with all or part of this section will result in demotion with possible termination.
