Job Summary: Responsible for providing shelf stocking services to the commissary, that includes keeping shelves fully stocked, cleaned, and in a presentable fashion.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Essential Functions:
- Required Availability: Must be available Sunday through Saturday 9PM to 7AM. Day's off and schedule will be determined by site management.
- Obtain and utilize all equipment, including safety equipment, necessary to complete the task, i.e. cutter, blades, feather duster, apron, etc. to meet safety standards.
- Receives merchandise from the government to be staged.
- Prepare merchandise to be placed on shelves, to increase efficiency during stocking of merchandise.
- Stock all items that will fit on the shelf according to the standards of that particular commodity to maintain a complete supply of items accessible to customers.
- Display, block, straighten and clean all merchandise as well as shelf area to maintain a presentable appearance.
- Rotate specified merchandise to ensure that the oldest date codes are in the front of the shelf area (First In - First Out).
- Remove all damaged and hazardous commodities to maintain safety standards.
- Break down and remove all cardboard and trash to keep the stocking area clean of debris.
- Dump all contractor-generated cardboard.
- As needed, sorts and segregate merchandise by established plans and procedures.
- As needed, consolidate merchandise and restore after shelf-stocking evolution.
- Other duties may be assigned.
