Job Purpose
Manage the daily distribution activities and supervise warehouse personnel by developing and maintain a safe, highly motivated, and well-trained work force.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct Supervision of shipping / receiving personnel.
- Perform supervisory tasks such as managing start & out time, payroll, training on job requirements, performance reviews, improvements related to job layout, warehouse efficiency, quality, fill & pick rates, cross training & team rotations, maintain adequate staff levels while supporting MPC safety programs.
- Conduct daily shift meeting to communicate information related to the operation, or general company.
- Coordinate activities between customer service / office personnel for inbound / outbound shipments.
- Communicate and coordinate logistics activities with other departments / plants
- Maintain internal / external shipment accuracy.
- Manage warehouse inventory to include disposition of obsolete inventory, rotation of finished goods and to organize stock to fit departmental goals
- Maintain inventory processing accuracy (IPA) through auditing and a documented cycle count program.
- Perform layer audits / document findings / troubleshoot problems to correct. Responsible for all supervisory functions related to department staff including safety and environmental compliance, overtime / vacation / absenteeism coverages, work force planning, personnel related issues, cross training and performance management.
- Conduct daily shift meetings to ensure team awareness / engagement in quality expectations, production goals and company announcements.
- Follow company policies, procedures and guidelines including the company handbook.
- Offer plant / companywide continuous improvement suggestions.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
