Responsibilities:
•Effectively balances the workflow in the printing and slitting areas.
•Trains, leads and motivates team.
•Communicates with other shifts and other departments, keeping them informed of developments affecting their functions.
•Ensures the proper training of printing operators, track their performance and identify individuals who may need periodic training.
•Writes a fair and objective review based on the employees job performance.
•Maintains accurate documentation and be able to document observations with specific examples.
•Participates in a daily walk through with previous and oncoming shifts.
•Supports and ensures implementation of new processes and procedures.
•Inspects and verifies color samples periodically throughout the day.
•Attends and participates in daily production meetings with Supervisors and representatives of other departments to receive information on changes made to the production schedule, equipment maintenance schedules and any other matters related to production within the business unit.
•Completes daily paperwork detailing total number of fabric rolls printed and total production hours.
•Manages the use of color match rolls.
•Has basic knowledge of the MacBeth 3.3 Color Matching System and the Novaflow Ink Dispenser.
•If needed, assists the printing operators in the performance of their job duties.
•Oversees the team’s participation in daily stretch breaks.
•Basic knowledge of the slitting process is essential. Monitors the area throughout the day to ensure daily production goals are being met. Assist slitting operations if needed.
•Trains operators on all TIP’s. Monitors comments to ensure effective feedback.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Acceptable training and experience includes a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional training in the concepts of teamwork in a production environment would be beneficial.
Basic knowledge of color theory and the MacBeth color matching system.
Basic knowledge of the principles of mechanical equipment operation.
Skill in the use of a computer and software packages to produce standardized reports.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Must possess better than average color acuity.
