Annual Pay Rate: $38K to $50K (DOE)
Schedule: 8am to 5pm / Monday to Friday
Job Description
- Evaluate and counsel individuals who have disabilities or limitations in order to provide vocational rehabilitation services
- Records review and interviewing individuals
- Conferring with medical, professional, and educational personnel to determine the type and degree of disability or limitation
- Determine eligibility for services and feasibility of vocational rehabilitation
- Identifying suitable jobs and/or classes of jobs consistent with the individuals aptitudes, physical, mental, and emotional abilities
- Assist individuals regarding the appropriate areas of study or in obtaining the proper training or education for a position
- Consult with attorneys, employers, and insurance company representatives regarding the services provided
- Assist in preparing vocational assessment reports, life-care plans, including market, education, and life-care plan research
- Testify at depositions or in mediation, hearings, and trials as an expert witness
- Conform to all billing guidelines and achieves billing goals
- Performs marketing and sales activities, including cold calling and networking events
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required, Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling preferred (or related field)
- National certification of Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) strongly preferred.
- Advanced ability to analyze and make sound judgments and to accurately document activities
- Advanced oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with claimants, medical professionals, employers, claims staff and others
- Excellent negotiation skills to effectively establish target return to work dates
- Advanced knowledge of state, local and federal laws related to vocational rehab
- 1-3 years of work experience in vocational rehabilitation or related field
- Proficient computer skills include MS Office Suite & Internet Research
Salary : $38,000 - $50,000
