What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at Job&Talent?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Must be able to do full rotation. Other duties may be assigned. Operate a semi-automatic production machine to quality and production of the job Standard, notify Inspector when visually defective parts are produced and notify your Supervisor immediately when machines are not running quality parts or running properly. Supervisor must be notified after 10 bad parts produced and tech must be notified at 2 bad parts. Fast response team must be notified at 1 short shot. Responsible for the correct insert loading operation of all machines. Properly maintain automatic machines when working on the floor including grinding runners; filling of production boxes at press with parts produced from machines and picking up parts and runners by sweeping before moving to next job.
Report to your work station at start time of your shift to discuss job status with operator you are replacing. Read Operator instruction sheets that are posted at each machine when the job starts up or when you relieve another Operator at a press.
Must stay at your work station until your shift ends.
Be at work station and ready to work at start time.
Check press at the beginning of shift for conformance and supplies.
Keep work area cleaned up during production and at end of shift - keep all parts and runners picked up around all machines.
Efficiently sort parts when working in hold area in accordance to the direction of the Quality Inspector including notifying when boxes have been sorted. Keep boxes properly marked so that parts can be identified as good, defective, or to be sorted.
Prepare boxes at the beginning of the shift when working on the floor making a sufficient number of boxes being made up to last a max. of 2 hours.
Remove old labels or stickers and clean returnables or containers being used.
Relieve Operators for breaks as instructed by supervisor and label box with your name on label for tracking.
Fully complete Production Reporting Sheet for each job ran.
Check parts for quality defects on all jobs you are responsible for and on other jobs as
designated by your supervisor.
Report any unsafe working conditions immediately to your Supervisor.
Record all defects.
Complete all required paperwork and check for errors.
Responsible for cleaning presses during regular business hours or on the weekend as needed.
It is the responsibility of all employees to take corrective action for all non-conforming items identified by the employee.
Assist in training for new operator.
When using anything sharp, must wear cut gloves and cut sleeves on both hands and arms.
Perform other duties as required for the safe, efficient operation of the plant. Supervisory Responsibilities- In the event that this position becomes vacant, the Supervisor will resume responsibilities.
Environmental Responsibilities- Cooperation with action team directives. Familiar with evacuation plans. Trained in Clean-up modules (oil and water spills). Familiar with environmental plant postings
