Sr. ME Technician – 2nd Shift

Description

You will have the responsibility to support the Production and Manufacturing Engineering team in sustaining and improving existing manufacturing processes as well as newly introduced products and processes through process monitoring, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, product testing and cross-functional collaboration.

• Employment Type: Full-Time - Temp to Perm
• Days/hours: 2nd shift M-F 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm
• Location: Irvine, Ca
• Salary: $32 - 35hr depending on experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Work with engineers and production personnel to provide oversight on existing production processes including review of process documentation and product inspection and disposition where applicable.
• Investigate production issues with respect to yields, efficiency and nonconformance's and help to create and execute timely action plans for resolution.
• Support engineers to identify tools and equipment needed and assist in processing purchase requests or in-house tool fabrication. Both for existing processes and potential process improvements
• Identify and recommend process improvements.
• Perform equipment IQ/OQ including completion of necessary documentation (protocols and reports).
• Work with Engineers to create and update documentation such as, manufacturing procedures, work orders, protocols, reports, equipment documentation and process Change Orders as needed.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance of equipment.
• Provide training to technicians or operators based on applicable procedures.
• Support Production builds as needed.

Qualification Requirements

• High school diploma with minimum 5 years of experience in medical industry, preferably in medical device manufacturing or manufacturing support.
• College degree is preferred.

Skills:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Team player with a commitment to developing strong collaborative relationships with colleagues, business partners and cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to use most manual and some power tools for adjustment, maintenance and fabrication of tooling, fixtures and equipment
• Ability to learn and operate various equipment used for medical device manufacturing including but not limited to microscopes, hot air equipment, coil winders, braiders, etc.
• Ability to create and update documentation in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Ability to create and modify drawings in Solidworks is a plus

Work Environment

• Working conditions are hybrid in between office and cleanroom environment. As such there may be a significant time spent moving around to support various processes.
• Moderate lifting may be required in order to support maintenance and installation of equipment on production lines.
• This position will be mainly supporting 2 nd shift production and thus may have need for overtime and weekend work as necessary.
