Job Details
As an Accounting Manager, your primary responsibilities will include :
1. Supervising and managing the general ledger team to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
2. Assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
3. Overseeing the accurate and timely processing of payroll expenses, 401K loans, and garnishments.
4. Managing the preparation and entry of monthly accounting entries.
5. Ensuring accurate and efficient monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
6. Reviewing and ensuring application of appropriate internal controls, SOX compliance, and financial procedures.
7. Collaborating with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
8. Implementing and managing data processing systems and PC software for the accounting department.
9. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
10. Identifying opportunities for process improvements to speed up month-end close and reduce time to issue financial statements.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Accounting Manager role should possess the following qualifications :
1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accounting Manager or in a similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles, laws, and regulations.
4. Proven experience with general ledger functions, month-end / year-end close processes, payroll processing, and 401K loans.
5. Proficiency in using various accounting software and data processing systems.
6. Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), and experience with PC software.
7. Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
9. Knowledge of safety and environmental compliance.
10. The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
