Job Details
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of accounting within the company, with a particular emphasis on fixed asset accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting, with the ability to analyze, track, and report on the company’s capital assets. This role will also involve supervising a team of accountants and collaborating closely with cross-functional departments to ensure accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities :
Fixed Asset Management :
Oversee the entire fixed asset lifecycle, including acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, and disposal of assets.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of fixed asset transactions in the general ledger.
Develop and implement procedures for tracking and managing fixed assets, including maintaining an up-to-date asset register.
Perform periodic physical inventories of fixed assets and reconcile discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (, GAAP, IFRS) and company policies related to fixed assets.
Financial Reporting & Analysis :
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Provide detailed analysis of fixed asset-related expenses, depreciation, and capital expenditures to senior management.
Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts and variance analysis, particularly regarding capital expenditures.
Team Leadership & Collaboration :
Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
Collaborate with other departments (, procurement, operations) to ensure accurate capital budgeting and asset reporting.
Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with audit requirements.
Process Improvement :
Identify opportunities for process improvements within fixed asset management and accounting functions.
Recommend and implement best practices to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in accounting operations.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or CMA preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting and manufacturing industry practices.
Proficiency in accounting software (, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
Solid understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and other financial reporting standards.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Experience with ERP systems and fixed asset management software.
