Job Details

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Corporate Controller at a dynamic real estate investment and management firm. This hands-on leadership position involves overseeing accounting staff, preparing internal and external financial reports, managing month-end and year-end reporting, and engaging directly with owners and investors. The role focuses on P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Essential Functions :

Lead daily accounting operations and supervise accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll teams.

Conduct monthly financial reviews for all properties and collaborate with field personnel.

Oversee monthly distributions for third-party properties.

Prepare and submit financial data for lender financing and compliance reporting.

Serve as a liaison for investors, managing financial inquiries and distributing reports and K-1s.

Manage onboarding and offboarding of owned and managed properties.

Analyze and present financial data accurately, keeping senior leadership informed.

Coordinate corporate and property tax filings with owners and third-party firms.

Maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and compliance standards.

Monitor cash positions and funding needs.

Assist with debt financing.

Oversee software integrations with financial and operational platforms (, Yardi, payroll systems).

Manage treasury functions and support audit processes.

Assist with annual budgeting and planning in coordination with operations leadership.

Serve as a backup for payroll processing.

Additional Responsibilities :

Provide coaching and training opportunities for accounting team members.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

CPA certification preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

5 years of experience in multi-unit accounting (real estate preferred)

Strong knowledge of GAAP accrual accounting

Experience with Yardi software preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft applications

Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills

Effective leadership, communication, and discretion in handling sensitive information

Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional integrity

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
