We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Estimator to join our team in the Construction industry. This role is crucial for the success of our projects as you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates that form the basis of financial decisions. As a Permanent Estimator, you will work closely with project managers, engineers, and senior leadership to ensure that all budgeting, scheduling, and coordination processes run smoothly. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our company's project development stages, and directly contribute to the bottom line and overall success of our projects.
Responsibilities :
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for all cost components.
2. Use software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
3. Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
4. Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
5. Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
6. Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
7. Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
8. Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
9. Establish and maintain tendering process, and conduct negotiations.
Qualifications :
1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field.
3. Proficient in relevant software (CostX, ConEst, or equivalent).
4. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
5. Solid understanding of contract oversight, commercial estimation, project estimation, cost management, construction estimating, project bidding, cost analysis, and subcontracting.
6. Excellent analytical and forecasting skills.
7. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Strong attention to detail, with an ability to focus on critical elements and, at the same time, remain mindful of the big picture.
10. Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
