Job Details
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage weekly and biweekly payroll processing and employee reimbursements in line with internal policies and regulatory guidelines. This role will report directly to the Payroll Manager and be responsible for overseeing payroll operations while implementing continuous process improvements. The position will also involve collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to maintain accurate payroll functions and compliance standards. The payroll system used for this position is a leading Human Capital Management (HCM) platform.
Key Responsibilities :
Process weekly and biweekly payrolls with accuracy and timeliness
Generate payroll reports, including reconciliation with third-party tax and garnishment services
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger reconciliations for payroll activities
Ensure compliance with internal payroll policies and all applicable federal and state regulations
Prepare and process contributions for retirement plans, including loans and matching deposits
Assist in year-end tax reporting, including the preparation of W-2 forms
Coordinate with HR and relevant departments to ensure accurate processing of new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations within the payroll system
Support additional payroll-related tasks and projects as assigned
Qualifications :
3-5 years of experience managing payroll within a medium to large organization (processing for over 400 employees)
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to providing excellent service to employees and external partners
Solid understanding of accounting principles and general ledger functions
Experience with internal controls and compliance practices
Strong time-management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
Familiarity with Workday, ADP or UKG—experience with a leading platform is highly desirable
Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and payroll-related research
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred but not required
