We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Senior Accountant to join our team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional looking to take the next step in their career in the architecture and construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting and financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and providing strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the company.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include :
1. Overseeing and managing the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to : accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Collaborating with financial management and other management teams to develop financial strategies and prepare financial plans and budgets.
3. Preparing and presenting financial reports, including monthly financial statements, annual reports, and reports on variances and cost.
4. Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
5. Developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of efficiency and accuracy.
6. Analyzing financial data and providing recommendations to enhance profitability, revenue, and cost controls.
7. Coordinating with external auditors and managing internal controls.
8. Mentoring and guiding accounting staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant role should have the following qualifications :
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is nice to have
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in the architecture and construction industry.
4. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
5. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel.
6. Exceptional analytical skills and experience in creating reports and presentations.
7. Excellent leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
9. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
