The Dean of the Queens College School of Business will be a senior academic leader at the College and, in partnership with the President and Provost, an important steward of institutional priorities, goals, and objectives. With six undergraduate degree programs, two minor offerings, and three graduate programs, the inaugural Dean will oversee the administrative and fiscal management of the School. The School has a $8 million base operating budget, 45 full-time faculty, 100 adjunct faculty, and five staff. This is a pivotal role, tasked with leading the development of the accreditation of the School of Business, shaping its vision, and overseeing the administration, academic programs, faculty, and staff. This will require developing long and short-range plans and exercising management responsibilities for academic program planning, faculty matters, and administration, including staffing budgets and facilities. This role also requires fostering a high-quality academic teaching, research, and intellectual achievement environment, and creating and strengthening partnerships within and outside the College. The incoming Dean will work to leverage the School's burgeoning strengths and identify partnerships both internally and externally that will enhance, support, and grow the School's programs and opportunities for students. The Dean will also be called to think creatively about developing new revenue streams and how best to anticipate and respond to contemporary challenges and opportunities facing the College and the School alike. This is a unique opportunity for a forward-thinking, collaborative, and entrepreneurial leader who can envision the future of higher education, inspire the community, and position the School of Business to innovate in a changing environment and gain notoriety in the New York metropolitan area and beyond. The Dean will be expected to articulate a compelling vision for the School of Business; lead the School to AACSB accreditation; develop new academic programs, build financial resources, develop external partnerships; recruit, develop, and retain a diverse, exceptional faculty and staff; and manage change. The successful candidate will possess an outstanding record of industry leadership or scholarly and administrative achievement; a nuanced understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the field of business education; a demonstrated positive impact in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion; experience building industry and community partnerships; a record of supporting excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service; and the capacity to be a skilled fundraiser and advocate. An earned doctorate within an appropriate discipline and a teaching and scholarly record to meet the requirements of full professor within the School of Business at Queens College is preferred.
