A skilled Mechanical Design Engineer is needed to develop, design, and oversee the installation of mechanical and electromechanical systems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring designs meet performance standards, and optimizing products for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Design & Development:
- Design and layout mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and system components.
- Create detailed mechanical drawings with proper dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Work with manufacturing teams to ensure accurate execution of designs.
- Develop and refine designs based on operational testing and research data.
Collaboration & Engineering Support:
- Work closely with power, controls, and induction tooling engineers to integrate designs into larger systems.
- Oversee design implementation, working with vendors and internal shop personnel.
- Analyze customer requirements to develop product modifications and enhancements.
- Support sales and service teams by providing engineering expertise on product functionality.
Component Selection & Optimization:
- Research and select mechanical components for quality, cost-effectiveness, and performance.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, including automotive and industrial specifications.
- Optimize mechanical designs for improved durability and energy efficiency.
- Evaluate engineering test results to apply findings to future designs.
Testing & Performance Analysis:
- Conduct feasibility studies for new or modified designs.
- Compile operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend design improvements.
- Develop prototypes and oversee the testing of mechanical systems.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in mechanical engineering or related training.
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design and drafting.
- Knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing techniques.
- Familiarity with machine shop practices and manufacturing procedures.
- Experience with automotive specifications is a plus.
- Understanding of induction heating physics is desirable.
