The Physics department seeks candidates for a tenure-track position for an experimental physicist at the Assistant Professor level, starting in August 2025. The faculty member will be based at the Old Westbury campus, but may have the opportunity to teach at the New York City campus as well.
Responsibilities:
- Extending the departmental research portfolio to cutting-edge experimental studies.
- Teaching and developing new undergraduate physics courses offered to physics, engineering, and other majors.
- Involving undergraduate students in research work.
- Performing service to the university.
Requirements:
- A Degree in Physics or Applied Physics.
- Postdoctoral experience and experience teaching at the undergraduate level are strongly preferred.
Ideal Candidate:
The faculty member hired for the position will be an experimental physicist with a record of successful research and a clear research agenda. Candidate will have strong teaching credentials which are adaptable and able to be incorporated into New York Tech's teaching style and philosophy.
