Career Center Counselors play a vital role in providing career guidance to individuals seeking assistance through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) for the TENCO region. This position is responsible for maintaining confidentiality, providing outreach and recruitment methods, and developing individual training accounts for occupational skills training.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide career/employment guidance through an understanding of labor market data, local job opportunities, and community resources.
- Assist individuals in enrolling and participating in on-the-job training opportunities, work experiences, customized training, Incumbent Worker programs, and/or transitional jobs.
- Provide individuals with information on local area performance measures and program costs of eligible providers of education and training services.
- Work closely with representatives of community partners, including education, business, other workforce areas, and economic development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a human services or business-related field from an accredited college or university.
- One (1) or more years of related work experience and/or related internship required; two (2) years of related experience and/or related internship preferred.
