About the Position
We are inviting applications for an experienced senior scholar to serve as the Department Chair of our esteemed Anthropology Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly qualified individual to make a significant impact on the department's growth and development.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in anthropological research and teaching, with experience in leading academic programs and initiatives. They will also contribute to the development of our undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including our B.A. in Anthropology, M.A. in Anthropology, and Ph.D. in Applied Anthropology.
Our department is comprised of 23 full-time faculty members, with research interests spanning archaeology, cultural anthropology, biological anthropology, and linguistics. The successful candidate will oversee two major centers: the Center for Archaeological Studies and the Forensic Anthropology Center at Texas State. Additionally, they will manage various labs and projects that support sustained and innovative research by faculty and students.
