Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist's postgraduate fellowship program in primary care is designed to equip the next generation of skilled nurse practitioners and physician assistants with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to deliver high-quality patient care throughout their lifespan.
Our comprehensive training program is focused on developing healthcare professionals who can provide collaborative, high-value care in a community setting. You will learn to assess the biological, clinical, and behavioral needs of individual patients and families, provide appropriate referrals and order routine and urgent testing, and integrate behavioral and social sciences into your practice.
The practice of primary care requires a broad set of skills, including coordination with specialists, basic procedural skills, and the ability to navigate the complex healthcare system. As a fellow in this program, you will have the opportunity to develop these skills and become a leader in healthcare delivery and patient advocacy.
