Duties of the Dental Team

The following duties are involved in this position:

• Perform dental procedures on patients according to ADA standards.
• Supervise, manage, and train dental department staff, including residents assigned by executive leader.

Dental Provider Duties

The following responsibilities are associated with this role:

• Provide patient dental education with assistance from interpreters as needed.
• Document services on fee slips and in the electronic dental record within 72 hours of patient visit.
• Assist with the training of new dental assistants.
• Supervise dental staff in absence of other leadership.
• Consult on the purchase of new dental equipment.
• Perform composite restorations.
• Perform silver amalgam restorations.
• Perform simple and surgical dental extractions.
• Treat patients with moderate to severe dental infection.
• Perform root canal therapy procedures.
• Upon successful completion of approved training programs, privileging and credentialing, responsible for the administration of orthodontia, pediatrics, and/or implant treatment plans.
• Participate in chart audits and quality assurance evaluations.
• Promote a positive work culture and uphold clinic policies and procedures, including the WE CARE standards of Behavior.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times regarding CBHA activities, reports, financials, patient health information, and other proprietary information specific to CBHA.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must:

• Maintain authoritative skill and knowledge in the principles of sound dental practice.
• Be licensed to practice dentistry in Washington State.
• Have the ability to prepare basic correspondence and simple reports in Microsoft Office Suite.
