Responsibilities
- Operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
- Monitor video display of area being scanned and adjust density or contrast to improve picture quality.
- Check patient creatinine level and calculate glomerular filtration rate (GFR) to determine if patient can receive IV contrast material.
- Review and ensure accuracy of screening forms completed by patient, including the IV contrast materials information sheet.
- Explain procedures and set up equipment to administer the proper procedure in a timely fashion.
- Ensure that a consent form for IV contrast materials has been obtained.
- Perform MRI procedures to include: abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams, extremities, sub-periosteal implant planning, radiation therapy treatment planning, biopsies, etc.
- Enter patient history data and other pertinent information obtained from a requisition completed by the Radiologist to include anatomical area of interest.
Requirements
- Current ARRT Radiology registration, required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
- Ability to work rotating weekends, including Saturday and Sunday shifts, with occasional late night shifts.
